PMR results and 2012

PMR results this year will be released on the 22nd and I'm very sure that most of you are already sweating to fight off those nerves and anxiety. Here's one thing that you should know, as of 2012, your PMR results will be nothing but the past and it won't be much help anymore. The next matter would be choosing which stream to study in.

Today, I'm going share with you my personal experience of my form 4 journey.

Choosing the right stream for you really depends on what you want and plan to do in the future. Understand that SPM is the equivalent to the British O Levels. Basically your high school finishing exams. To make a decision, you have to understand and know what are your objectives. Do you wish to learn and understand your subjects, or are you studying for the sake of good grades? Do not be ambitious and egoistic. Be REALISTIC.
Recognize your strength and weaknesses. In PMR, what did you enjoy studying? Which subjects came naturally to you and what did you pick up easily? Let's break things down. Take it easy and understand the subjects you're going to be studying.

In each package/ stream, you will be taking a total of 9 subjects. 5+4.
5 subjects are your core subjects which comprises :

  • BM
  • English
  • Modern Math
  • History
  • Pend. Agama Islam / Moral
4 subjects will be the subjects packaged according to your streams. For students sitting for SPM in 2012, the streams were organized in such :
Pure Science - Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Add Math
Sub Science 1 - Chemistry, Physics, Add Math, ICT
Sub Science 2 - Chemistry, Physics, Add Math, Accounts
Arts 1 - Accounts, Add Math, Economy and Science
Arts 2 - Economy, Commerce (perdagangan), Geography and Science
Arts 3- Economy, Commerce, Visual Arts and Science

Science stream subjects are very detailed and requires you to have some level of mathematical standards. Each topic are almost inter-related (especially add math) which requires you to understand earlier chapters before you can move forward to the next chapter. Focuses on micro understanding
The arts stream subjects have fewer chapters but are somewhat lengthy. The subjects in the arts stream are less detailed and there are lots of concepts and over all things you need to remember. The subjects are designed to prepare you for further studies in the economical and business sector. The arts stream subjects is what I would say, interactive to daily life and how you take systems around you and understand it. Focuses on macro understanding.

People in Malaysia have this stigma whereby studying in the science stream means you're great and all mighty. People also assume that the subjects studied in the science stream is more superior than the arts stream just because the arts stream is apparently 'easier'. The difficulty level of a subject is really determined by the individual's ability to take onto a certain subject. As mentioned earlier, know your strengths and weaknesses. If you've had problems with subjects like science and mathematics in PMR, then the science stream may be a struggle. If you've had problems with subjects like history, geography and KH, then the arts might not be a good choice for you. I'm not trying to discourage, demoralize or scare you from trying, but that's how it is. Some people are just not cut out for certain subjects, be it arts or science related.

Lets address those students who wish to study in the arts and cannot make up their minds. I know many students, friends, peers, etc. who wish to study in the arts stream but forced themselves to study in the Science instead, suffering and cursing all the way. It is okay to be in the arts stream. If you want to study those subjects, don't give yourself excuses or reasons to stop yourself. All those other people out there telling you what to do, they're not taking the exams and studying for you. You have to enjoy doing what you do.

In my case, I studied in the science stream all the way until September and switched after the Raya holidays. I'm much happier now and I do wish that I'd just listened to myself and switched to the arts stream earlier in the year instead of cramming 9 months of syllabus to rush for my end year exams. In my case, my first official exam for my new stream were the finals. It took me a good 3 months of thinking over and over if I wanted to switch and start over or keep pushing on studying in something I did not have the interest of doing. Yes, if you look at it, I did waste lots of time. But I'd rather have wasted all that time than to keep pushing on in the science stream and hating it. (I had issues with add math and Physics, whereas Bio and Chem were subjects I loved) Because of those two subjects, I swapped anyway. It was an experience I find worth sharing.

I got a lot of different reactions and opinions when I changed streams, most of them were shocked, some of them who understood me were relieved, some thought that this will be the end, some agreed, some didn't. After all that, I realized that people forget after awhile anyway. What I'm trying to say here is, don't bother what people have to say about you. Listen to yourself.

Reasons that I (most likely you will use as well) made my deliberation process so darn long.

"But I can't do anything science related anymore!"
Sometimes your strengths and weaknesses are in different places.
"Fewer career options!"
There are many career options in relations to the art stream.
"People will think I'm stupid"
You're taking the exams, not them.
"My friends are in the science stream!"
If they really are your friends, they will understand and accept you for who you are.
"Art stream students are less smart laaa"
There are plenty of smart art stream people. What type of smart are you talking about? Academical or street smart?
"Art stream students play a lot and don't do their work"
It's really almost the same in the science stream. In fact, they're so good in their studies they almost don't pay attention in class and just play.. of course, which distracts others even more.
"I don't want to be labelled as 'taking the easy way out'"
All subjects have their own challenges in their own way. Taking the easy way out is copying homework and answers during exams.

If enough of you art stream gifted people are daring enough to make a move to the arts and forget about all those doubts, the arts stream would be a more popular choice. Right now, stigma and peer pressure are most probably the two main reasons why so many are still in the science stream when they know they would do better in the art stream. My friends in the art stream are no less talented, academically competent and witty as those who are in the science stream. It took me so much trouble and time to realize that I've been making excuses because I was simply just scared of what people would think about me.

Form four year is the year of many challenges. Time management has to be the key. You will discover yourself. Your friends.

Bottom line : Do things according to your own abilities.

Sometimes We Win, Sometimes We Dont.

For the Form 4s, the battle is over but there's still the war to come, a war that's about to be fought by the Form 5s and 6s. Alright, I sound cheesy but you get me, right? For the Form 4s. there's just the prospect of almost two whole months without school ahead while it's the opposite for the Form 5s and 6s. Here's a good luck from the guy writing this as well as the entire team that makes up Seafield.FM. You're going to need it. Hopefully, you won't do as badly as I did, and that's without getting my Add-Maths marks back yet.

I guess I'd like to dedicate this post to the Form 3s, who are going on 4 next year. From someone who's just lived through that period, "4" really means die if you don't make the right choices. Before we begin, I'd like to wish the person who said it was the "honeymoon year" a very slow and painful death from sunburns or perhaps from stepping on Lego (Nothing hurts more that that, right? Or maybe getting a bazillion paper cuts.).

This is a survival guide; everything to expect - the truth and all of it.

First of all, you'll be getting your PMR marks sometime after Christmas. There will be joy and tears but you know what? Even if you bombed the PMR, there's always next time. It isn't over. I'm saying that because it's true. Looking back, it as practically nothing now. Anyway, Form 4 is about five times harder on the pain scale. ~Just saying. From there, you will be asked to pick a stream. There's Pure Science, Sub-Science, Arts and... I'm sorry but I don't know of the other streams. Nothing personal but I was just too preoccupied with life in 2011 to take notice. No offense meant. Anyway, picking a stream is your first step in Form 4. The stream you're looking to be into is determined by your PMR results. All those brainiacs will want Pure Science while Sub-Science is reserved for the "chill" types (Again, no offense meant. It's based off personal experience.).

Now here's possibly the hardest decision you'll ever make in secondary school. If you were like me: 7As and deciding on whether you should pick Pure Science or something else, DECIDE VERY CAREFULLY. You have to know what you can handle and I couldn't cope in Pure Science. First of all, I has horrible at most of the core subjects. The change was just too much for me, made even worse by other factors like moving far away, the extra tuition classes and also certain people in my life. We all have that, right? Now, before we get into the detains, I'd like to ask you a rather unconventional question. Are you moving? Far away from the school and your friends? Then get your parents to HALT IMMEDIATELY. Threaten them! Say your marks will drop! Anything! Trust me, you'll think you can handle it. Maybe you can but if you can't, it can get very ugly. It's the same with other "light" matters that quickly snowball into something uncontrollable.

They say that determination is the root of success and determination comes from the will to do something; to succeed. When those hard to deal with moments like moving gets into your life, you have to deal with it ASAP! There's no stalling for that in Form 4. You'll only make it worse by procrastinating on it. You'll lose everything you ever cared for. It will seem like there's no hope. Then you'll start to see people judging you. You know they're not but you just won't be able to shake that feeling. Life's too short to be a depressed maniac, especially at sixteen. . Here's a fun song to get you through the pain, alright? After all, your minds are tender and innocent (I'm assuming anyway.)

Okay, *AHEM. I've put far too many intros in this. Let's just get straight to the facts. First fact: Form 4 is not the honeymoon year. In fact, it will probably be one of the worst years of your life. Why? Here's why (*There's a longer version of "Living In the Sunlight, Loving In the Moonlight. Look it up if you're afraid of what's to come. No? Alright, your funeral.):

ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS. I wanted to make the words all edgy and scary but I'm technologically impaired so anyway... ADD-MATHS! Just typing out the words made me reel. Okay, what is it? It's like Maths, just... additional. You'll choke and die if you don't start buying revision books, take tuition or at least look at some of the questions. It's not a threat, it's a warning (See what I did there? I went all creepy and... Never mind. Also, if you're tired of the song, look up "Double Rainbow."). Tonnes of formulas to remember and you'll give yourself migraines if you don't stop and ask a friend how to find X when it is inversely proportional to 9u838qyred739823rf when Y is r8u9234w094rf3hf22w0988243f89hyh.

HISTORY. It's probably the third most horrible subject I've had the misfortune to be forced to take. The second is Moral, by the way but I'll get to that in just a second. Why is it so bad, you ask? Is it that you have to remember the odd names of countless people? DATES? Oh, no! Nope, it's none of that. It's the format. You have to write it in essay form with suitable points. Here's a tip, just write whatever that's at the top of your mind in a test/exam. DO NOT follow a reference book format like I did. If you're planning on acing it, READ it till the end. I didn't finish the Form 4 textbook and I just got my marks back today... Yep, still burns.

MORAL. Like History, you will also have to answer it in essay form. Fair enough but why do I rank it higher up on the "URGH" list? You remember Moral in Form 3, right? With all the memorizing of the EXACT definitions and stuff? Also, there was the OBJECTIVE section? I can't believe I still remember that! Well, this time, you will have to do that (memorizing) as well as write several essays with a fixed format. Also, NO OBJECTIVE! Any slight deviation will cost you dearly. I'd suggest you look up the format or ask someone good at it (Don't look at me.) if you intend on passing.

The rest? They're not too bad from what I've heard. I liked Chemistry, Physics and Biology before the teachers I was under made me rethink that. They're all great subjects but you really want to take a leaf out of a psychologist's book and do some character assessment here. Like I said before, the TRUTH and the WHOLE TRUTH; no hiding anything, so here goes. Now, I won't mention any names and this is all from personal experience but certain teachers look out for certain criteria when they assess your work. Some want it exactly like the text book, some just don't understand "high" English and insist that you explain it as simple as possible. ("Not an English lesson you say? Then why don't you quit it with the classy words you hypocrite.") Teachers are people, and people can be divided into two kinds: good and bad. So if you get the "good" teachers, then congratulations, you've just procured a wonderful guide through the year in that specific subject. On the other hand, if you get a "bad" teacher... then sayonara. Just get lots of tuition and study hard. Lots of exercise and some medication will help restrain yourself from hurling a chair at their faces whenever these people open their mouths to speak.

I guess that's all for now. But hey, lighten up! It's not the end of the world. Apart from the things above, you will need, above all, someone to depend on: Your BEST FRIEND. Laugh together! Grow one year older together! He/She's probably one of the most important people you will need to get through life next year and that's coming from someone who's only just realized that. Get along with your friends in Form 3 well enough and you should be fine. I failed Form 4 because LOL (League of Legends) killed all of mine and also because I moved and also because I had an annoying friend in class (won't mention who), and I took some things too lightly.

Don't make the same mistakes I did.

PS: Don't fall in love. Heartbreak comes at the most unexpected times and there's always someone crying in my Facebook News Feed with the swearing and the drama. Seriously, guys. Grow and pair and make good decisions in life.

Beware, young innocent, Of pointed ears, Of red eyes, Of the cry of the beast as the midnight sun glows at noon.

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'alls neighborhood

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom

And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was personally one of my all time favorites from the 70's and 80's. On a slightly related note, who can stand listening to your parent's "love" CDs in the car? To me, it's like every one of the artists are crying in an echo-ey room. I just don't get that logic... If you want to tell that special someone you love them, you do it with something upbeat and happy like:

Wow, we're really getting off topic. This was supposed to be all creepy with the "Thriller" lyrics at the top there but that failed. Well, surprise, surprise! Tomorrow's Halloween!

Now there's a high chance that you didn't realize with all the studying you've been doing over the past week or so and the fact that we just don't celebrate Halloween in Malaysia for some reason. I don't know about you but I think Halloween is a magical time of year! It's a time where people get to dress up and go from door to door and ask for candy at the childish chimes of "trick or treat!?". Hmm, I think it's because people here are stingy and because almost all adults here feel that candy is bad for you.

Now, just what is Halloween all about, you ask? ... Well, I honestly can't tell you here. Wikipedia is hopeless at this topic apparently. Well, according to that one Simpsons episode I saw once, Halloween came about after an agreement between witches that used to take children away and eat them on the final night of October. The real change came about when a father offered the witches gingerbread men to spare his children. The witches agreed and have since returned every night on the 31st of October to relieve the townspeople of candy and other sweet-toothed delights.

Games commonly associated with ol' Hallows include apple bobbing and believe it or not, divination. A traditional Scottish form of divining one's future spouse is to carve an apple in one long strip, then toss the peel over one's shoulder. The peel is believed to land in the shape of the first letter of the future spouse's name Unmarried women were told that if they sat in a darkened room and gazed into a mirror on Halloween night, the face of their future husband would appear in the mirror. However, if they were destined to die before marriage, a skull would appear. The custom was widespread enough to be commemorated on greeting card from the late 19th century and early 20th century. (For the love of God, don't try this at home. I've read too many stories where girls use mirrors and apples and midnight to see into the future and it's all very messy in the end.)

Interesting, eh? Well, to compensate for the lack of Halloween joy in Malaysia, the ever hardworking folks here at Seafield.FM will be giving out FREE CANDY (I want to make the words "FREE CANDY" pop by making it huge and bubblegum-ish but I don't know how. So this will just have to do.)!!! Have no fear, we're not a bunch of pedophiles.

This is just it; point black: free sweets. So this is just a reminder for anyone smart enough to remove their noses from their revision books for just a minute and keep and eye or two peeled for any one of the Seafield.FM DJs who will be going around handing out sweets during recess.

So don't miss out! I mean, it's small, we know. But it's the least we can do for our very loyal audience. (I want to make you people who don't listen whenever we do shows feel guilty subliminally but I just don't have to time right now. So... er... Yeah. Shame on you. Whatever.) It's our pleasure to serve and there are no strings attached.

Happy Halloween folks! - Seafield.FM

PS: I think I'll just leave this here:

This Is Going To Be Short, Promise.

Hey, peeps!

The music is in the air! As well as the delicious taste of muruku as well as other festive delights. We here at Seafield.FM would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Deepavali and a happy holidays! As Deepavali is also knows as "the festival of lights", do keep those study lamps on because the exams aren't over quite yet, unfortunately.

So while you're at a friend or relative's house doing the bhangra to some awesome beats, do keep a Chemistry book in hand or something while you at it (I mean it as figuratively, but if you did do that, it would be imba.)

In support of unity, diversity, bhangra-ing and keeping a balance between fun and study time,
SeafieldFM.

Le Untitled

'It's a foul predicament.'

'Yes, most foul indeed.'

'Angry.'

'Mmmm.'

'Disgusting.'

'Mmm mmm. Yes, sir. Most foul indeed.'

'And do you know why it's a foul predicament?'

'Because it's a predicament?'

'What?! Well, yes, close enough. Wretched.'

'Yes, sir. And it's all because "predicament" starts with a "P" isn't it? Yes! That must me it!'

'?!?!!'

...

Yes, it's a most foul, wretched, angry, disgusting blah. predicament at hand. We're, of course, talking about the exams! It seems that every time we put down the books to rejoice at finishing a huge test/exam, there's always another one just around the corner. We just can't get rid of them - the annoying little buggers. And it gets a whole lot worse when this happens: You have this kid who always gets good grades in class and no matter how hard you try, you can never ever beat him, and you're all like:

And he's all like:

'Lol, I didn't study that hard,' he says. But on the inside, just under that skin, hides this:

Still, it could be worse. He could be doing this to you:

'I pwned you at Add-Maths, BEEEYYYYYYCCCCHHHHH!!!!! U jelly? U mad?'

It is advisable that you punch the nerd in the face because let's face it, nobody likes a troll.

We here at Seafield.FM would like to wish everyone a happy studying. Take care and don't fall sick like I did during the PMR (my nose was all runny and I can't tell you how many times I thought the word "s*it" up in my head). So stay smart and stay healthy, that's our advice to you all.

If you haven't picked up a book, do it NOW. Seriously, there's no room for procrastinating when it comes to the finals, or more importantly, the PMR and SPM exams.

Well, that's all from us. And I, the author of this post would like to apologize for the excessive use of memes. I had a tonne of them in my hard drive and I thought I would finally use them for something useful.

Rejoice, My Friends, For the Holidays Are Upon Us

Hey, guys!

Guess what? The holidays are here! (Yes, I'm being sarcastic. We all know)

It's not all partying, though! For many of us seniors, we've got some serious studying to do, so no breaks for us (Serious seniors are serious). Anyway, that aside, for our Muslim friends, it's also nearing the end of fasting! Which means 'balik kampung' to visit relatives, feasting on traditional Malay cuisine and just plain enjoying themselves for our Muslim friends. For those who have already left for their respective hometowns and you non-Muslims who just wanna 'makan angin' and have fun with family at someplace cool like Penang, we here at Seafield.FM bid you a Selamat Hari Raya and also a safe journey.

Also, Independence Day is just a few days away so show your patriotism people! I know some of you guys might not like some of things the Government or the politicians say, but that aside, Malaysia is really a wonderful place. We're rich in natural resources, fauna and flora (as we're always bragging about it in Moral textbooks and whatever), we have a whole spectrum of cultures and beliefs. We are truly unique. Cheap slogans and ad campaigns won't make us be united and love our country. It's up to us, really. It all boils down to whether we want a better Malaysia or not and whether we're willing to take a stand and make a change. So to everyone who's reading this, we wish you a Happy Merdeka.

Again, shows will be resumed after the holidays and you can all expect to chill in the morning to some of today's best music.

I apologize in advance because I might potentially bum you out by sounding like a teacher (or many of your parents), but keep safe, lay off the computer and the junk food and get some exercise so you can drop a few pounds and wow your girlfriends when you get back to school, or in the case of guys, get ripped and get challenged all the time by dirtbag Jersey Shore-types (You know who you are). But more importantly, pick up a book! Any book, really. Fill up that brain before it turns to mush. Who knows? You might be that new "smart kid" and have no friends (I was kidding about that no friends part). Now that's all said and done, Imma' sign out now.

Much love,
Seafield.FM

Just a Quick Update

Hey, guys.

As you might have guessed, we're not doing any shows right now because of the exams and also because it's the month of Independence. The prefects are currently in charge of song selection (cough* UNFORTUNATELY)

It's annoying that they play the same songs every day, and trust me, we're students too, so we know. On a lighter note, shows will be resumed and we'll play all your favorite music right after Merdeka Day, so hang in there.

Also, we'd like to wish the guys who are currently having exams a very good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor. And last but certainly not least, we'd like to wish our Muslim friends a happy fasting month and Selamat Hari Raya in advance. :) Also, don't forget to check out the bazaars around town! I hear the one at USJ4's pretty good.

Signing out, and much love,
Seafield.FM

Trip to Astro 2011

Hi guys! You may have heard, but in case you haven't, Seafield.FM's just visited Astro! I know some of you must be thinking "Astro? Really? Have you guys no where else to go?" Yes, some of their channels play out-dated stuff on repeat and yes, their services often get disrupted during the rain, but there's actually a good reason for that (apparently the frequency they use to broadcast and receive is safer using the current frequency but is very sensitive and susceptible to interference from rain). All in all, the trip has been a very mind-broadening experience for everyone. It was fun and we all got to learn new things.

We got to learn of the many functions of various departments in the place, which are very efficient, I might add. The staff appeared very much professional; you'd think you were in research facility or the headquarters of an international bank. Everything is well-organized there and the whole complex is very clean. We learned how shows are beamed in, screened and filtered, and then beamed back out to you guys, the customers on your TV sets. The equipment the guys there use isn't the latest nor the most advanced (as our guide told us) but they were very high-tech and expensive in our eyes. More importantly, they do their jobs well. Stuff like dishes, servers, etc. also cost a bomb  We learned of Astro's fool-proof back-up plans (which I'm assuming I'm allowed to disclose on this blog, seeing as they have restrictions on may things there) .

Many of the shows on channels work on a system and are based on logic, apparently. Say a new movie's brought in. Whether it gets played on HBO or whatever depends on it's content and it's relevance to the majority of viewers. Shows are brought in and screened months before it's to be aired to be reviewed, cut and censored so that it's of an acceptable standard for the eyes and ears of Malaysians. Apparently, stuff with too much profanity in them don't get played at all after the screening process because they become too short and much of the crucial parts of it, like the storyline would have been compromised. Oh, and I almost forgot! The rights on shows like CSI, The English Premier League, The Simpsons, etc. are bought at the cost of up to 700 million ringgit a piece! Recently, many have been complaining of Astro's service hike but as I've said before, there's a good reason for that: shows just cost more now. Our guide said that the screen rights on several shows run into the billions now.

Oh, and I saved the best for last ;) WE GOT TO MEET SOME OF THE GUYS ON HITZ LIVE AND IN THE FLESH! No joke! Everyone I told was (what color was it? I forgot) with jealousy. That's right, we got to meet JJ, Ean and Jin! Jin was kind enough to invite us all into the Hitz studio (this small-ish soundproof room with all kinds of audio equipment and monitors) and give us an insight into the life of an announcer (apparently, the term "DJ" is now invalid as DJs used to bring their hard-copy discs in to play, instead of using digital media like now). You had to be disciplined, cheery, immune to tiredness. open-minded and above all, humble when you're on the air with an audience that runs into the hundreds of thousands. You also have to have a good voice (FUN FACT: That lady on the KDK Raku-Raku ventilation what's-it advertisment makes up to RM 60,000 a month! I crap you not) not only for announcing but also for advertising, which in turn grants you endorsements from leading brands both locally and internationally. Jin's endorsed by Puma!

But don't get me wrong, life as an announcer isn't all that serious: there was a marker drawing of Rebecca Black, Rick Astley, Nyan Cat and various rage faces all over the notice board. Oh yeah, it was also signed by Jason Derulo.

And at the end of it all, we all got our one-and-a-half seconds of fame when Jin put us all on air at 12.54 PM. We got to say "BLARGH!!!" After that, there was a short tour of the rest of the "radio section" of the place, where we got to meet the announcers from Lite.FM and several other stations. Finally, it was time to say goodbye and the bus departed for school at around 12.20 PM.

It was great, all in all. I think by now, everyone who went thinks their qualified for announcing or lending their voices for advertising, because it really isn't that hard! Before I end this post, I'd like to thank everyone at Astro for allowing us, rowdy bunch of kids to visit your high-tech lair of awesomeness and I'd also like to thank our guide. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name, but we all here at Seafield.FM extend our utmost gratitude for showing us around and taking the time to answer our questions. Your English's great by the way!

Now, for the pictures! Unfortunately, I over-estimated the capabilities of my cell-phone camera and well... let's just say that they don't look too nice. I'll be using the purdy pictures of the almigty Kimberly with her trusty sidekick, her camera! Alternatively, you can view the entire album HERE

Y U No take good picture!?!

"You know that Bruno Mars poster in the hall? Yeah, don't steal it."

I see what you did thar!!

Seafield Goes Football Crazy

Well, If you read the post about Astro having their launch in SMK Seafield, this is kinda related to it. Astro generously gave us (rumored) 3000 tickets for the Malaysia vs. Chelsea match on the 21st July. So, almost every student in the school was entitled for a ticket. The best part, everything was absolutely FREE. (other than the bus of course).

Pictures later yeahh... Here's an interview with one of our students.

Gloria Ngu, 4 Amanah

How did you feel when you heard that SMK Seafield was giving away free tickets for the Malaysia Vs. Chelsea Match?
when i first heard about the tickets, i was quite happy because it would be my first time actually going for a real LIVE match. in addition to that, this match would be extra special because a famous football club was goung to be playing against our national team. plus, it's free

Sharleen Ann, 6 Amanah

Are you a fan of football?
not a fanatic at all, initially i am not a fan of football, but since there was free tickets given out in school and i had like 4 free tixs
to waste them and on top of that, I can so i decided to go because i didnt want to waste it. Besides, I can gain some experience being in a football game as this is my first time

Ozzies Meet Seafield!

Well, almost right after the Germans left, we had visitors hailing in all the way from Melbourne, Australia. They were on a study tour to Malaysia to learn about our language and culture. Some of the librarians and prefects were lucky enough to get to be their "tour guide" for the day. Here are the pics!

Arrival at our school

Group Picture with the board of librarians

Pn. Wong introducing them to our school

A visit to our mini history corner

Loong Yi and Lee Yen explaining about our school's history.

The girls and the guys were separated, and the girls were introduced to a game of  'congkak' a traditional Malay game.

Other Librarians explaining.

The guys got to play a game of 'sepak takraw'.

As usual, the school buzzed with excitement to watch our new friends try a game from our homeland.

Tired, boys?

Group Photo.

The librarians who just love their shirts.

Yes, they joined us for class too!

Q&A session! so much to ask!

In class!

The supporting crew.

Photos, photos, photos!

Kaelan, our head prefect.

Presentation of a token of appreciation from them to us. :)

They actually wrote and conversed their speech in Bahasa Malaysia! Not bad!

Time to say goodbye with many smiles.

They left us some souviniers too!

There is actually a few more pictures of activities and what they'd done. When we have the time, We'll show you!
